KGL Skin Study Center works with many pharmaceutical, cosmetic and personal product companies testing products typically sold in drug stores, department stores, and on-line. These include topical drugs, cleansers, moisturizers, anti-aging products, sunscreens, make-ups and anti-acne products.
We test new products on human skin for both safety and effectiveness. We conduct clinical trials involving healthy volunteers and those with skin diseases such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis, atopic eczema, warts and many others. Safety is primarily evaluated by patch testing and effectiveness is evaluated by product use studies and clinical trials. For further descriptions of these studies, click here.
We are located in suburban Philadelphia (Delaware County) with more than one million people within a 15-minute drive of our facility. KGL has a large volunteer database used for study recruitment and block enrollment that ensures rapid study initiation and timely completion. Recruitment and retention are made easy with automated reminder calls/text messages and pre-paid debt cards for study compensation. In a typical year, we execute approximately 100 protocols. In addition to clinical evaluation and standard safety testing, we have an interest and commitment to clinical research. Our staff includes board certified dermatologists and our consultants include medical specialists in pediatrics, allergy and immunology.
